Offering help and support to those with life limiting illnesses
and their families

CBH follows the hospice model established in the U.K. in the 1960’s by the late pioneer in this field, Cicely Saunders. Care, comfort and spiritual companionship is offered to those who are in the late stage of their illness, when there is nothing left to do from the medical aspect except to control the pain and discomfort. Our CBH teams consist of both professional health carers and trained volunteers who provide support to those in need as well as their family. Our aim is to eventually set up a hospice in Catalunya. But in the meantime we are already offering our Hospice in the Home care to those who contact us.

Our Hospice & Care Services strive to offer professional, loving and person-centred specialist care to people with life-threatening illness as they approach the end of life.

This will happen in our facility in Catalonia and in patients’ homes. Our philosophy of care is about helping patients of all denominations and nationalities to live well and die well, with dignity and peace of mind.

Care is given to improve the quality of life of patients who have serious life-limiting conditions. This means a condition, illness or disease which is progressive and cannot be cured.

We aim to treat the symptoms of the disease (or side-effects caused by treatments) and any psychological, social and spiritual problems related to the illness. We will also assist families and caregivers through this experience and provide a bereavement support service to people who are grieving.

Our services will provide a specialist care service through an interdisciplinary team, guided by a consultant physician in Palliative Medicine. We will be working to offer additional services which treats the individual as a person rather than a patient.

This is a speciality which is offered in addition to Palliative Care services typically offered in hospital. Our emphasis is to be on the easy, dignified and stress free accompaniment of individuals and their loved ones through the final days of life.

Our approach to the care and support of the dying is based on the teachings of the Vinyana Association
